Who We Are

 
Advent 8 is a privately owned company, which was established in 2003.
 
We focus on providing a solution for our customers that addresses both the need for strategic growth and process efficiency/cost reduction.
 
Advent 8 prides itself in its ability to deliver quality ICT systems and solutions, on time, on budget and to the customer's satisfaction.  Our consulting services optimise your business efficiency by addressing people, process and technology issues - simultaneously.
 
The Service Delivery arm is responsible for all activities associated with end to end delivery, which includes planning, customer design, network integration, system integration, project management, customer reporting, commissioning, handover and support.
 
All aspects of every project are the responsibility of a dedicated Advent 8 Project Manager.  The responsibilities include delivery on time, on budget, on customer specification and to quality standards equal to the best in the world.  Advent 8 has a responsible and nimble project management team.  When necessary we will manage the workflow by outsourcing solution build to a single skilled and competent contractor that is ISO accredited.  This allows Advent 8 to quickly scale delivery to meet customers' requirements.
 


How We Work

Advent8 takes a 360-degree approach which includes all aspects of a solutions implementation. For example. by identifying and addressing Hardware and Software Development Life Cycle issues, ensuring industry best practices, and active performance of risk management, metrics analysis and monitoring activities.  Our approach goes beyond verifying and validating the solution being implemented - 

  • We will address functional, process, organisation, compliance, regulatory, technical, and external issues on an ongoing basis. 
  • We will perform risk assessments, capabilities assessments, and ongoing monitoring iteratively based on project specific milestones, project characteristics, and as issues arise.  
  • We will establish meaningful, measurable performance measures and metrics. 
    And,
  • We will continually assess project performance against these metrics.
The Advent 8 methodology our teams use is based on widely accepted and publicly available frameworks. The methodology has evolved from the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) of the Project Management Institute and other leading industry practices.  Our methodology helps to validate project management activities and monitor the impact of project changes on budgets and timelines so as to minimise project risk and successfully enable transition to the client's user community.

Our Team

Advent 8 is a multicultural firm that recruits on the basis of excellence and is committed to encouraging the continuous development of the skills of its staff with the objective of maximising the overall performance of the business.  Emphasis is placed on work-based learning, with the provision of development opportunities supported by appropriate coaching and mentoring.  This is supplemented by more formal training programmes, such as workshops to enhance the skills of Advent 8's staff. 

In addition, professional services staff are supported in developing their functional specialism's through external courses, networks and forums.

Advent 8 recognises that the promotion of health and safety at work is an essential function of staff and management at all levels.  In an endeavour to achieve high standards, appropriate policies and procedures have been put in place. 

The purpose of our health and safety policy is to enable all members of our staff to go about their ordinary business in the expectation that they can do so safely and without risk to their health.
